An existing 1 bedroom apartment that was in need of refurbishment but was also creatively re-configured to provide a spacious 2 bedroom flat without extending.
The existing layout had a dated kitchen with the only light source being a small velux window over, a large dressing area and bathroom and large eaves storage. By re-positioning the bathroom and making use of existing external drainage from the flat below we were able to swap the kitchen and living accommodation to the upper level and the bedrooms and bathroom to the lower level providing much improved circulation and flow.
The existing kitchen was converted to the main living room by designing a bespoke sofa within the old eaves area to free up floor space and open up the roof space to create more volume by adding 2 over 2 velux windows and removing the flat ceiling so as to follow the pitch of the roof. The result is a very spacious, modern and light 2 bedroom apartment.
